What is numismatics?
Numismatics is the study, knowledge and collecting of coins and paper money issued by a nation with the official design of the country. Within this collection, notafilia is the part dedicated to the study, research and dissemination of banknotes and paper money in general.
The study of this hobby and its collecting is of the utmost importance since it allows observing and acquiring knowledge about commercial exchanges and the economy of the people, as well as its history, geography, politics, religion, customs, among other points. In relation to this is paleography, symbology, iconology, art history, among other sciences that serve to contribute knowledge about the history of a country.
Both the purchase, the sale and its exhibition in collections are governed according to some indexes of quality of conservation of the pieces.
