What is philately?
Philately is the study and collecting of stamps, especially those dedicated to Correos, meaning not only the specific stamps of postal services but also those that, having not been created for use in Correos (fiscal, telegraphic, etc.). ), have had postal use for various reasons. The philately of a country is included in what can be called Postal History of the same.
In Postal History, not only the objects of postal communication (stamps, letters, porteos, postal marks and correspondence in general) must be considered, but also other sources such as Cartography, History, legislative support and all types of mail documents.
What should be gathered or incorporated into a collection of Postal History or Philately?
Collections of Postal History and philately must collect documents and pieces transported by an official or private postal service and present studies on postal routes and itineraries, rates and stamps used in correspondence.
